I needed a picture to fill this space and thought this would suffice. D#%n Yankees! Still it's 8-4 on the season. ;)
This is a realization that I've come to over the past few days. Aubrey is known to soak the front of her outfits with drool. We excuse it by saying "she's teething" but the poor girl has yet to have a single tooth poke through her gums. Her sister on the other hand has two teeth on the bottom and never really drooled quite as much as Aubrey. Now if you've ever been around our girls you have noticed that they have always sounded a little stuffy. Now they are REALLY stuffy, and runny, and cranky ,and have mastered the art of the "little girl scream". Oh joy to our ears when we finally sit down to relax or have just hit the pillow! They may not know how to crawl or walk yet but as soon as that Kleenex comes anywhere close to their noses they know to shake their heads like a dog with a chew toy. I love my girls to death but frustration found me this past week. I guess the main reason is because you don't know what to fix! They can't tell you, "Daddy, I'm so tired". I don't even want to say that I wish they could tell me because I have a feeling that this Papa is never going to get a word in edgewise! Oh the estrogen levels in my house increase daily. I need to put a monitor somewhere in the house to let me know what I'm dealing with day in and day out. It's all good though because I can't imagine it any other way. So due to the leakiness and the crankiness Randi and her Mom took the girls to the pediatrician yesterday. We found out that they're not gaining weight like we want them to and we need to add a feeding for a week to see if that helps. If that doesn't help we may need to supplement. Those are fighting words to a Momma who is determined to nurse her young, but we gotta do what's best for them. The pediatrician prescribed a decongestant for them to clear em up. I got a phone call at work telling me that our insurance doesn't cover this decongestant and it was going to be $49.00 x2. Um, no. $98.00 for a decongestant is RIDICULOUS give us the cheap stuff and if there isn't one, call the pediatrician and get us something else. We ended up with a $4.00 decongestant. Much better, although the warning label is a bit disturbing: "This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy. Use caution while driving, using machinery, or doing any activity that requires alertness. Avoid alcoholic beverages while using this medication." We got a good chuckle out of that since clearly this isn't specifically for an infant. =) The girls slept through the night last night and it was pure bliss.
Randi is still making their food and they're loving it! She just started plums last week and they have been a hit. We even tried it and are thinking about making a batch for ourselves! Green veggies aren't Addison's favorite, but other than that they eat like champs! Tofu has also been introduced. Apparently this is a good source of protein for them. I myself am not a fan but will they remember what they ate when they were 7 months old!? Cheerios have also been introduced. They're still getting the mechanics down but when they get, it they enjoy it.
Randi is taking sewing classes and has not only impressed me but has made some really cute things for the girls. This past Saturday she had a class from 9 am until about 5. I had the girls all day and we had fun. At one point I put them in their activity jumpers and went no more than 10-15 feet away into the kitchen to wash some bottles. Not 2 minutes go by when I hear a shrieking scream. The result:
She got her head stuck. The second photo she was giggling at me because I was laughing at her. I'm sure that this is just the beginning of many more dramatic situations.
Well that's all I've got for this post. I got tired of seeing the beach pictures so I thought I'd make a new post.
We hope everyone is well. Our prayers and deepest sympathies go out to my Uncle Ron Sebastiani and his family as they mourn the loss of his Mother.
Much love to all.
